Arthur Lawrence, father of D H Lawrence, was born at Brinsley on !8 June 1846. He began working at Brinsley Pit at age 7.
Greasley Church used in 'A Fragment of stained glass.' Possibly inspired by the medieval glass found from the priory and placed here.
